Five In A Row For The Red Hot Chili Peppers!

04/04/2007

Red Hot Chili Peppers will release the single Hump de Bump on May 7th on Warner Bros. Records. Hump de Bump will be the fifth single to be taken from the widely acclaimed double CD set Stadium Arcadium following Dani California (#2), Tell Me Baby (#16), Snow (Hey Oh) (#16) and Desecration Smile (#27).

Produced by Rick Rubin, Hump de Bump is one of the corner stone of the Jupiter segment of the Stadium Arcadium collection and represents an intriguing balance between the band’s earlier frenetic funk and the more streamlined rock sound of their more recent albums.

The accompanying video for Hump de Bump represents the first music promo that has been directed by comedian Chris Rock. Having made his name as a cast member on Saturday Night Live, Chris Rock has featured in films such as Dogma, Beverley Hills Ninja and Nurse Betty. He also created the TV show Everybody Hates Chris.

Stadium Arcadium spent two weeks at the top of the album charts following its release in May. Since then it has sold over 720,000 copies in the UK alone. The band’s summer tour of stadiums and football clubs proved to be a huge success that culminated in four sold-out gigs at London’s Earls Court before headlining this year’s T in the Park festival. Recently, they also played an intimate gig for XFM at the rejuvenated Roundhouse venue.

Stadium Arcadium also earned the Red Hot Chili Peppers the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Album.
