Recorded at Rockfield Studios, ‘Empire’ was produced by Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Editors, Ladytron) and Kasabian and is the follow up to the band’s debut album, ‘Kasabian’, which sold over 700,000 copies in the UK. Sharing the new album’s title, the first single be taken from the record entered the charts at No. 9, despite only enjoying one week’s worth of exposure. It went on to sell over 80,000 copies. Unlike the typical release model where singles are played on radio and TV for six weeks prior to release, ‘Empire’ was made available, both physically and as a download, on the same day it was played for the first time on the airwaves.
