All those who enter will find sweat pouring, fists pumping and hearts overflowing. With energy so contagious and embracing you’ll want to know just where these electro-rock, Parliament-meets-Daft Punk vixons have been all your life.
In the words of guitarist Jason Holstrom ; "U.S.E rocks a house party like it's a stadium, and rocks a stadium like it's a house party" as it’s traditional for the audience to run amok on stage at their gigs ripping down the band/fan barriers!
Having played alongside Junior Senior, Ted Leo and Death Cab For Cutie, the Seattle-based band self-released three songs in hand-spray painted packaging in 2002 before dropping their full-length on self-run label Mannheim Worldwide. Almost 1 year later, label Sonic Boom reissued it nationally along with European distribution and a bonus live/remix EP. In the meantime, Japanese label Sideout Records got the overseas hysteria rolling by releasing the full-length and a remix EP to mass fervor across the country of the rising sun. And now the fever has hit the UK with a release on new label Original Electric Recording Company.
The live shows are unmissable as legwarmer clad dancers leap about in front of the 5ft backdrop of Sesame Street-ish foam letters spelling U.S.E. The crazed septet pixie party unleash their instruments and vibrant selves about stage in a torrent of the rawest and purest joy – you’ll want to be in their gang!
U.S.E. have ignited dancefloors worldwide with their explosive live shows, blissful melodies and uplifting energy. It’s pure pop celebration the way it was always meant to be, the soundtrack to the greatest moments of your life….
The first single to be taken from their UK debut album ‘It is On!’ is released on 18th September as a limited edition pink 7” vinyl and it bursts into action with the songcraft reminiscent of Junior Senior with Meg White-esque drums. It fills up quickly with the fizzy fun effervescence familiar in The Go Team and never loses steam. The album is stuffed with simple and catchy guitar and vocal melodies set against a tight rhythm section. “Emerald City” is a Seattle themed cheer-fest that has been described as “the theme song for the happiest action news broadcast on the planet!”
USE the album is out on October 2nd on Original Electric www.usemusic.com
